SP4 Delivery models for CC

SP4 aims to develop an integrated, multi-tier delivery model for DCC. This customised delivery model draws from three innovative delivery models in the construction industry: Integrated Project Delivery, Design-Build (DB), and Industrialised Construction.

By combining the strengths of these models, SP4 will create a methodology to generate a tailored delivery model that aligns with the principles of DCC, namely preservation, reuse, and circular new construction through development of several key components.

First, through analysis of existing project delivery models, relevant component elements that enable DCC will be identified and organised in a classification taxonomy. On this basis, the “DCC delivery launch pad” will be developed as an interactive method for systematic decision-making in the early stages of DCC projects, enabling stakeholders to conceptualise an appropriate project delivery strategy tailored to the project and its circularity goals. An application matrix will be provided alongside the method to support its implementation and ensure effective utilisation.

To empower users to customise and create such tailored DCC project delivery models and thus enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of project delivery, a user-friendly web-based Delivery Model Configurator will be developed based on a comprehensive framework of delivery model elements benefitting DCC implementation.

Qualitative research and empirical data analysis play a significant role in SP4. Through focus groups, interviews, and surveys, insights from industry practitioners will be gathered. These insights will contribute to the development of the Delivery Model Configurator and supporting guidelines and recommendations. All the findings will be consolidated into a Building Blocks Manual, which will serve as a comprehensive guide for developing and implementing tailored project delivery models for DCC projects.
