SP6 Matchmaking service for the BE
SP6 will optimise the efficiency of exchanging reused construction elements within Switzerland. This SP specifically focuses on the development of digital tools and networks to overcome these barriers and aligns with other SPs to address current needs and drive systemic change as envisioned by the Flagship initiative.

To enable and embed reuse in the construction industry, it is crucial to establish connections among material supply, construction stakeholders, and information. Digital tools play a key role in facilitating these interactions and expanding the range of available product options. However, the limited availability of efficient tools, regulations, and incentives hinders the widespread adoption of reuse practices in construction.
Previous digital platforms in the Swiss market were designed as temporary solutions to address immediate needs, lacking a comprehensive long-term vision for establishing a robust reuse value chain that addresses challenges such as large quantities, time and location constraints, and material testing. In collaboration with digital platforms, our objective is to introduce incremental innovations, such as a supply-demand matching algorithm, a service network for logistics and transport, connections between diverse digital supply sources, and a BIM interface. These innovations will contribute to the development of a more efficient and effective reuse ecosystem.
By building upon the achievements of SP1 and SP2 in reducing environmental impact through reuse strategies and establishing legal frameworks for non-new elements, SP6 integrates the data structure from SP3 and uses its trading and tracing system for transactions involving reused elements. Through collaboration with SP7, it further strengthens the business case for reuse in Switzerland. This interdisciplinary approach guarantees the implementation of effective reuse practices, legal transparency, reliable data management, and economic sustainability in the built environment.
